Home Euthanasia & Aftercare Services – The Vet 2 Go:

At The Vet 2 Go, we understand how difficult it is to say goodbye to a beloved pet. Our home euthanasia and aftercare services are designed to make this time as peaceful and stress-free as possible—for both you and your pet.

1. What is home euthanasia, and why might I choose it?

Home euthanasia allows your pet to pass peacefully in their own home, surrounded by familiar smells and loving faces. It avoids the stress of travel and clinical settings, creating a gentler experience for everyone involved.

2. How do I know when the time is right?

Knowing when to say goodbye can be one of the hardest decisions you'll ever make. We offer compassionate quality-of-life assessments to help guide you through this decision with honesty, empathy, and professional insight.

3. What happens during a home visit?

Your vet will arrive at your home and gently walk you through every step. After ensuring your pet is fully relaxed with a sedative, the final injection is administered. You are welcome to be with your pet throughout the entire process.

4. Will my pet feel any pain?

No. The process is completely pain-free. Your pet will first receive a gentle sedative to ensure total relaxation, followed by a final injection after they are fully asleep.

5. Can family or other pets be present?

Yes. We encourage you to create a peaceful environment and welcome anyone—human or animal—who would like to say goodbye.

6. How long does it take?

A typical home visit takes around 45 to 60 minutes, allowing time for questions, farewells, and aftercare planning.

7. What are the aftercare options?

We offer:

  • Individual cremation (with ashes returned in a keepsake vessel of your choosing)
  • Communal cremation (ashes not returned)
  • You’re also welcome to make your own arrangements if preferred.

8. Can I request keepsakes or memorials?

Yes, we can provide:

  • Ink or clay paw prints
  • Fur clippings
  • A selection of urns and scatter tubes

Just let us know your preferences when booking.

9. Do you offer grief support?

Yes. We can provide access to trusted pet loss support resources and support groups across Yorkshire and online.

10. What areas do you cover?

We provide home visits across South Yorkshire (including Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster) and parts of West Yorkshire (such as Wakefield, Pontefract, Ackworth and surrounding areas). If you're unsure whether we cover your location, please get in touch.

11. How do I book an appointment?

You can book by:

  • Phone or text on 07865741830 or 07865741692
